Analysing the data from the school BP screening project, we found that 7.5% of teenagers have high blood pressure, a condition typically associated with adults. While this may seem small, it translates to roughly 1 out of every 13 teens affected.


What does this mean?

Age and weight play a role, with older teens and those who are overweight or obese having a higher risk.


The good news is:

This condition is treatable. Early detection and management by healthcare professionals can help teens stay healthy and active. Talk to your parents or doctor about getting your blood pressure checked regularly and maintain a healthy lifestyle through physical activity and a balanced diet.
